Why do you learn Russian?

As for me, it's not that I need it for work or travelling but I just love the way it sounds :) What was your reason for learning Russian?

I traveled a lot and whenever I went I almost always met a Russian person there. Lots of ex-USSR folk who speak Russian even in western Europe and other countries like UAE, Czech Republic etc. Majority of Ukrainians, Moldovans, Uzbeks, Azeri, Armenians etc speak Russian too, so there's a pretty significant amount of Russian speakers out there.

I heard Russian in media, especially movies and it seemed interesting. I don't learn that hard, just Duolingo and some additional materials from time to time. Learning a new language is a good brain exercise.
