What does Отв.: mean in an email subject line?
I have a penpal and we communicate in emails, and I thought that "Отв.:" might just be the Russian version of "Re:" I’m not sure though, any ideas?

I think you're right and it does mean the Russian version of "Re:." It sounds like an abbreviation for the word "ответ" which means reply.

In this case it stands for "Ответ" (Re:) - this is how it is translated here in email clients.
