Ukrainian Versus Russian
A question for those of you that have some experience with these two languages. What are some primary differences between Russian and Ukrainian? Which would you consider the most valuable to learn?

Most Ukrainians speak Russian, but only few Russians speak Ukrainian. So obviously from that point of view Russian is more valuable.

Ukrainian will be useful in Ukraine. Russian will be useful in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Baltic states, on Caucasus and even in middle-Asia (Kazakhstan, Tajikistan etc).

One difference is that in Russian unstressed vowels are reduced (о pronounced а) and some consonants can be devoiced (like д pronounced т) and in standard Ukrainian they aren't so pronunciation is a bit easier in Ukrainian as it's more phonetic
