Russian was always very open to borrowing. Moreover, it’s only natural for a language to change and adapt.

First of all, language evolves, and previous words were in use for centuries now it’s time to freshen it up and it’s naturally happened. The office is very commonly used when something like “kontora” is quite outdated.
