Are берегись and береги себя interchangeable?

I wouldn’t say so. Береги себя – take care, берегись – watch out!

Береги себя is a wish, but берегись is a warning.

If you see that someone is in danger, say Берегись!
Use береги себя when parting with someone (take care)
