Pronunciation of это and эта
Are "это" and "эта" pronounced differently or do they sound exactly the same? I don’t hear any difference at all, but maybe native speakers do. Can anyone help me please?

There is no difference in pronunciation.

The main rule is to pronounce the letter "о" like "о", when it is under a stress only, and like "а" - without stress. So in this case there is no difference in the pronunciation (because o is unstressed)

You may only hear people saying это with o in some villages maybe or in Ukraine (under the influence of Ukranian).
